“It’s so cool that we have a community where the positive peer pressure of people doing the right thing inspires others to do the same.” – Orrin Woodward
Imagine being the man who had to rent a chainsaw to cut down a tree that had just fallen on his home the night before due to a heavy rain storm. You’ve worked hard all week and now you have to carve out another 6 hours of your Saturday to finish this labor-intensive task. Now, imagine what it would feel like to have 25 complete strangers show up at your house in white t-shirts ready and willing to help you! A task that would have taken you all day, was just completed in under an hour.
“Random Acts of Kindness” was the theme of the Life on Life Initiative that took place in Janesville, WI on Saturday, August 29th, 2015. Roughly 200 Life Leadership Members – under the leadership of Steve and Jamie Leurquin and the coordinated efforts of AGO Spokesman, Chris Swanson – showed up to participate in the event. Not only was it a success, but this team came together to truly make a difference in the city.
The participants were encouraged not to have a plan and to look for needs as they drove around the streets of Janesville. However, that strategy didn’t fly for some people and extra effort was displayed in the actions of several members who had specific ideas on their hearts. The additional organized effort became a blessing in disguise as some of the projects needed more help than anticipated. Check out everything they did!
Organized Acts of Kindness:
- Served at the House of Mercy (a shelter for women and children) – several people purchased items to donate and then spent time stocking and organizing the pantry, folding linens, talking and praying with some of the women and painting t-shirts with kids on the front lawn (t-shirts and supplies purchased by Life Members).
- Finding a family in need – Connections in the city led to an incredible blessing for one family. The oldest son had been diagnosed with cancer nearly 6 years ago and was in remission until the cancer came back. Later it was revealed that the younger son and mom also had a condition that caused them to have skin cancer. So three members of the family with three cancer diagnoses. This family forgot they even had cancer when several Life Members showed up to bless them with toys, food, flowers and love. Tears of joy streamed from the eyes of all participants, especially mom.
- One group visited an assisted living home and spent some time with the residents and then later they went to a local transitional housing shelter to donate personal care items to the veterans that were living there.
- “FREE” Sale: Several people donated items from their home (clothes and other necessities) to the free sale. Others purchased school supplies that could also be donated to families. One lady was a hairdresser and gave free haircuts to kids at the free sale.
- Backpacks and kid donations at 4th Ward Park: A city-wide event called “Praise in the Park” was taking place in the middle of the city and several Life Leadership Members purchased backpacks and filled them with school supplies and donated other kid’s items for some of the families in need.
- Serving lunch at a community meal: A few participants gave up their lunch hour to dish out root beer floats to those in need at their local church for a community meal.
- Serving at a public library: Life Members showed up and asked the technicians what was needed. They said “cleaning” so the participants began cleaning and sprucing up the ends of the shelves in the children’s section, which was a heavily used area.
“People walking by throughout the city were asking, ‘What’s the deal? I keep seeing these white t-shirts. What church are you guys with?’ And I responded, ‘We’re Life Leadership and we are out here to make a difference.'” -Tony Klubertanz
Random Acts of Kindness:
- Pushing a car: Life Members took a wrong turn that led them to a street where they saw two guys trying to push a car that wouldn’t start. They weren’t making very much progress until the Life on Life crew jumped out of their car to help them push!
- While standing in line at the Family Dollar waiting to purchase school supplies to donate, one Life Member began talking to a family in front of him in line that had a cart of groceries. Minutes later he paid for the families groceries and the father immediately started crying. The family was so grateful!
- Life Leadership Members heard a chainsaw across the street from the House of Mercy and recognized that one man was trying to take down a tree that had fallen on his house. It wasn’t long before a massive army of people in white t-shirts showed up to help him! From climbing on the roof to picking up debris, the tree take-down and clean-up process was complete in less than an hour!
- Donations to the Pregnancy Care Center: Several people purchased diapers, formula and toys to donate.
- Free pizza in exchange for work: One man was a locksmith and received a call from a local pizza place whose lock was broken and they couldn’t get in the building. So the family jumped in their car to go help. However, instead of taking money in exchange for the work they told the pizza place they could pay him in pizzas. Their plan was to give the pizzas away. They knew of a local shelter that would be the perfect place to donate the pizza. But instead of just donating they decided to have a pizza party and spend time with the the adults and children in the shelter.
- One group bounced around to several spots – St. Mary’s ER, Dean Urgent Care, Mercy ER and Mercy Urgent Care, the Fire Department, the Post Office, the Humane Society, one assisted living facility (Cedar Crest) and they found a group of guys who needed help reroofing a house. At all of the locations they dropped off M&M’s, homemade chocolate chip bars/rice crispy bars and a thank you note for making a difference and serving in their career.
- Laundry mat: Life Members donated a bunch of change to people who needed help with paying for their laundry. The people were so grateful even for just a stack of quarters.
- “I saw a guy that I recognized dropping off items for his son and ex at the House of Mercy. He seemed down-and-out and it ended up being a guy I knew from high school that I used to run with. His name was Joel. I hadn’t seen him in 20 years. After I talked to him briefly, his young son came over and I just started edifying him to his son just like I had known him in high school. He was super-human as a runner and I really looked up to him. The son couldn’t believe how amazing his dad was after all the positive things I said about him. Later I talked with his ex and found out that Joel isn’t doing well so I gave her my name and number and told her to have him call me if he needed a friend to talk to. I was happy that I could paint a different picture of Joel to his son.” -Mike Hebbe
Additional Blessings:
- The local Family Dollar radically increased their sales for the day as hundreds of people purchased school supplies and other necessities to donate throughout the city.
- Some of the families wanted to donate money for items at the free sale because they felt bad taking things for free so the kids helping out thought of the idea to donate the extra donated money to the Humane Society across the street.
- Even the smallest act of kindness made a difference. Some people were greeted with a compassionate hug, a friendly smile and an encouraging word. Others received a free meal, bus tokens, home-made greeting cards, an encouraging sticky-note on their car window and a free full tank of gas.
“The biggest impact this Life on Life event had on us was knowing how much help we can offer this world if we slow down enough to open our eyes and look around. We came into a city without a plan of action, but to provide random acts of kindness to people we interact with every day. It doesn’t take much to bless people and often it doesn’t take any money at all. So often we feel the need to go on a missions trip far away to make an impact when our mission field is in our own back yard. I believe this group created a ripple effect that will go on further than they know. The biggest surprise to me was how many people were stunned and in disbelief when help was offered to them. What if we cause a change where random acts of kindness are not looked at as shocking, but something that people do every day?! Life Leadership is creating a culture where ‘doing what is right’ is cool again. As a group, our eyes are now opened to how much impact a small group can make. Look out world, Life on Life is going to change the world!” – Steve and Jamie Leurquin (Life Members)
It’s amazing what can be accomplished when a group of people align their purpose and chase it together; hundreds of people were impacted in the city of Janesville on Saturday and thousands are experiencing the ripple effect. Life on Life is truly making a difference! We are so proud of this “Stealth” organization for modeling true servant leadership. Please take a moment to check out this highlight video from the event!
If you participated in this Life on Life event, please comment below on how it impacted you. Also, please share what you love the most about the Life on Life Initiative.
Life Leadership: The Life You’ve Always Wanted
Jim Storhok says
What a phenomenal example of how LIFE Leadership is making a difference in the community!
Alexandria Nicole Moses says
Hello, I wanna be part of your team because I wanna make a difference in other people’s lives, including mine. But I tried to convince my mom to let me do Life Leadership but we got into this huge fight now she won’t allow me to get into the business, and I am literally 30 years old. Any advice you can give would be great.
Steve Leuquin says
Alexandria,
I would show your mom this story!!!
God Bless. Steve
Cevilla says
Follow your dreams! Regardless of what anybody says. It’s hard when family don’t support you. But she will see soon enough that your doing something great for yourself an others! Life leadership is making a positive difference in people’s life’s !! Dream on!
Donna Walls says
For heaven’s sake, if you’re 30 years old, how can she stop you?
Andrea Klubertanz says
So proud of our team and loved sharing the experience with our daughter. What a blessed day! The stories I heard about the impact the team had on individual lives and the community were amazing. The House of Mercy has full pantries now as they transition 19 families this week and we can’t wait to find more ways we can work together in the future.
Tony Klubertanz says
This was such an impactful event for the entire team and our family. I don’t believe I will ever forget the look on that man’s face when we showed up to help him with the tree that had fallen on his house.
Imagine the possibilities…the community of Janesville, WI was impacted tremendously by just a few hundred people. What impact will it have when there are thousands…a million people randomly looking to do acts of kindness? I LOVE what we do!!
Adam M Rossman says
I love what we do too!!!
Ryan Blakely says
Life On Life has to be one of the most impactful experiences I have ever been part of. All of us coming together and making a difference in the community is truly going to create a ripple effect. It’s an amazing experience to give back to the community especially those that really need it. I’m so blessed to be part of a world changing community like this. But it doesn’t stop here. Making a difference and blessing even just one family is addicting. Difference makers is who we are.
Adam M Rossman says
As people came back and shared their stories – I noticed that the people who gave were affected just as much as those that received. What a great way to bless others and make your own life more enjoyable as well!
Teesa Rossman says
I agree with both of you, it is “addicting” helping others. It was such a fun time. I joked with someone that we should have called it “Cry Fest 2015” because all of us were tearing up at each different story of a life impacted!
Dana Sarver says
It was so much fun and very impactful helping others. It’s a blessing to do this and also I get to do it alongside with my hubby to be! How great it was watching him befriend a total stranger, offer to pay for his groceries, and to watch the man tear up because of how thankful he was! Watch out world! Life on Life is going to make a huge impact!
Steve says
What Ryan did was truly amazing!
Adam M Rossman says
I thought it was awesome that Ryan & Dana Blakely were the first ones to share when we got back together as a group. A true testament of their serving hearts and their leadership.
Kristen Seidl says
Amen Adam!
Erika Hafemann says
I had such a great time giving back to Janesville! 🙂 I remember asking the cashier at Family Tree how his day was going and he responded with “well, it really wasn’t going that good until all of you showed up” And then to be able to donate at the house of mercy (supplies and time) was beyond rewarding. To know that we helped people who were in a bad time in their life and possibly helped them forget even for a minute that they were in a shelter is just amazing. And then to end the experience with helping to move pieces of the tree and see the look on the homeowners face when he was able to take the chainsaw back early just completed the day. The life on life initiative and life leadership are changing lives!!
Emily Hebbe says
Erika! I’m so excited you were there too! I agree so much! I didn’t think about how we impacted the employees of the store! We were pretty happy and laughing a ton while there!
Tina Abernathy says
Powerful story..”never underestimate the power of a small group of determined people to change the world, for it is the only thing that ever has”…Mother Teresa
Adam M Rossman says
I love that quote!
Teesa Rossman says
Amen! Changing one life at a time!
Steve Leuquin says
Thanks Kristen for such a great article. I am so proud of all the people in this article that made this blessing of a city possible!
Teesa Rossman says
Kristen, great job on both the article and the video montage.
Dana Sarver says
Awesome job Kristen! Thanks for coming out to Janesville to be a part of this experience and for the great write up!
Kristen Seidl says
Thanks for the kind words but YOU are the heroes! Thank you for modeling exactly what the Life on Life Initiative is all about.
Lloyd Weiler says
Man that is an awesome idea, random acts of kindness!
Tony Klubertanz says
Steve Leurquin has to take the credit for this. He is amazing at coming up with ideas like this and then encouraging his friends and business partners to use their talents to take it to the next level. Awesome idea Steve!!
Steve says
Totally agree with you Tony! Steve was the big reason for this awesome day!
Steve says
Please do not give me the credit. You all are the heroes! God gave me the gift of being unorganized. It was that gift that allowed me not to organize anything and say “let’s be random” and all of you came up with the ways to bless others. All the glory goes to Him!
Emily Hebbe says
Yes, and I think it really opened my eyes of how often Random Acts Of Kindness can happen in our day to day!
Adam M Rossman says
Wow!!!
April Wrage says
We were so blessed to be a part of this event! We gave away kisses (Hershey kisses), returned shopping carts, left encouragement notes, and visited the VFW to hang out with veterans. It was so wonderful to see the smile on peoples faces when we just took a moment to talk to them or encourage them. Thank you for letting us take part in LIFE on life.
Ryan Blakely says
You guys truly are servants!!!
Mike says
Super proud of the leadership here and the example that everyone sets. It’s awesome to be a part of such a great day with like minded people. You never know who God will put in front of ya even if it’s only for a few min, know that you can totally make a difference in their day and life. Thank you to all who helped put this event on. I can’t wait to do more stuff like this on a regular basis. Thanks again.
Emily Hebbe says
The craziest thing about the young man ” Joel” is after Mike was able to call him and talk with him Mike found out he was only in WI for 2 days and going back to Tennessee! The fact that we were in that town on that street at that shelter at that moment! God is AMAZING! I’m so thankful you were there Mike, I know you can make a difference!
Jenny Woythal says
The ladies I worked with that day at the Free Sale had not only purchased school supplies, but had a list of what was needed for the Janesville school district. So when a mom said she had twin daughters in second grade, they said “Ok, second grade, each one needs this many folders, scissors, glue, etc” and proceeded to get the supplies in order! It was amazing being part of this day! As a note to Alexandria Nicole who posted above: have your mom read the kid testimonies part of this blog and she will see how these children and teens have experienced the positive ripple effect of Life Leafership. I was blessed to work with some of those kids that day!
Terrel says
It was fun to serve. I like the video you made.
Tony Klubertanz says
Thanks for serving Terrel! You should be very proud of the difference you made.
Geneva says
I liked donating the money at the humane society. It can help an animal who is in need.
Geneva
Emily Hebbe says
Your right sweetie! So proud of you!
Richard says
It was truly great to not only see all those people show up, but come up with an idea to go out and serve.
Richard
Michaela says
I liked the celebration afterwards while we eat and drink.
Tony Klubertanz says
I couldn’t agree more Michaela! The time with our friends, after, was a great part of the day for our family as well. Plus, the food is always amazing at our events. 🙂
Teesa Rossman says
Thanks to the Fisher kids and all of the other kids who volunteered with their parents that day. I think having some of the kids there helped make our teams more approachable. Sometimes people are reluctant to take help or something “free”, but I think having some friendly little faces around showed that the intentions and motives of the different groups were genuine. Thanks again to ALL OF THE KIDS!!!
Ryan Blakely says
I couldn’t agree more Teesa. The kids played a huge roll in this.
Emily Hebbe says
I agree completely we had a family come from Elroy with their two kids! The kids are still talking about it and are so happy they were there! So where does the Ripple effect end……. Love it!
Steve Sager says
Sometimes in our busy, daily technological-society there can be random acts of kindness never noticed. The ripple affect could literally change the direction one may take, by simply caring for a stranger, and not expecting anything in return.
The city of Janesville was drastically hurt a few years ago with the loss of nearly 5000 jobs from a major automaker closing its doors; and has put so many into a difficult situation to provide for their families.
It’s phenomenal looking back at the stories of so many who rolled their sleeves up and offered up a few hours of time; to those who just need a little encouragement and hope. This just shows how priorities in one’s life reflect in their character and integrity. What a blessed community of leaders Life on Life represents on a continuous basis.

Ryan Blakely says
Great post! I can see Life On Life changing society and random acts of kindness becoming the norm.
Patty Blakley says
Absolutely Ryan – would love to see it as the “Norm”. “Do A Good Turn Daily”
Martha Andrus says
So proud to belong to a company where the right thing is the norm. Way to go Team Stealth
Teesa Rossman says
Yes, it is so refreshing to be part of a group that does good and loves doing it.
Jammie says
I was overwhelmed by so many peoples response to the need in our community. Some drove over 3 hours to help out, without any idea of what to do. That pushed so many out of their comfort zones that they almost didn’t show up. What I love is how encouragement from others and faith and love gave people the strength to go and notice. To find a need and fill is a principle we teach and this group of leaders challenged themselves to do that in a very real way. The stories that were shared show how god uses is not only to serve our fellow man, but how he uses that action to bless us in return. Thank you all for your courage.
Mary Schmucker says
I really felt blessed that we could go out there and serve. I was glad we could take our children along as it showed them that we are very blessed with having our own home and there are other children out in the world that don’t. Most of our family helped out at the House of Mercy.
Bob & Gerrie Melchi says
It is truly amazing what can be accomplished when you open up to God’s leading. Most of these acts of kindness were not planned, they just seem to be there. What was needed was just put in front of us because we were open to helping. It was a wonderful START, and I’m proud of the chance to serve!
Michelle says
AWESOME! I loved following the Tweets as events were unfolding that day! Y’all represent LIFE Leadership and the LIFE on LIFE Initiative so well…..serving the least of these. I bet your hearts were full at the end of your day of volunteering knowing you touched so many lives. Thanks for the example!
Ryan Blakely says
Matt you are truly a servant in Gods kingdom. Your example inspires so many. Thanks!
Ryan Blakely says
Sorry I meant both of you Matt and Michelle
Susan Strickler says
This article is incredible! As I started reading, I knew it was going to be good because that’s what Life Leadership does – is spread “good” wherever we go…..little did I know the tears would be flowing as I read all the small acts of kindness, serving and giving this group did in this community. Way to lead the charge Steve and Jamie – on to making a difference in a Million lives!!! Love Life on Life Initiatives 🙂
Pat sarver says
What a fantastic day. Having the opportunity to help even one person can be very gratifying, but having the opportunity to be able to touch so many people was totally awesome. I love this Team.
Dana Sarver says
It was a great day for serving a community of people in need. So glad to share that moment with you mom!
Chris Brady says
This is so incredible!
An army of people in white shirts out spreading hope and cheer with their very time, in essence, putting their lives up against other people’s lives, truly demonstrating the spirit of the Life on Life Initiative.
Making a difference in so many ways!
Great job Wisconsin!!

Teesa Rossman says
It was a great day. Our team went out with no idea of what we were going to do, but God had a plan, and we showed up at the right place at the right time. We walked into a crisis pregnancy center and asked if they needed 4 volunteers and the lady said “Actually, I have 1500 envelopes that need to be addressed and I was thinking ‘I don’t think I’m going to get this done by noon!’ “. Needless to say, the envelopes got finished!
This project really brings home the idea of “Make a friend, find a need”. We were so blessed to make some new friends this day.
Cheryl Ryan says
Not only did our mailing envelopes get labeled, but what fun that your whole organization met later that day at Glen Erin Golf Club—where I “just happened” to be out and about at our Annual Pregnancy Helpline Golf Scramble Fundraiser! So glad I got to meet you and those that came to our Crisis Pregnancy Center earlier that morning, and then to find out how you had surprised us not only with mailing help but with a table full of donations for us too! A God-ordained day! What a blessing! Thank you for all you do…you are blessed to be a blessing!
Cheryl Ryan, Executive Director, Pregnancy Helpline
Adam M Rossman says
Its like Chris Brady says, “To be happy is to give happy.”
John says
I felt their was a higher power guiding us to help with causes that we had no idea where to go and what to do. We saw a lady come in and out of a door at a facility with a walker which ultimately guided us in a direction to help many people many times over. Thanks to Teesa for making a phone call and finding a location that linked to the same place, the Pregnancy Center to help unwed mothers, we were able to help with clerical work along with other things. The message was sent out which brought other groups to help out. It is amazing how fast and large this can grow and multiply.
Teesa Rossman says
Yes, John, it was so cool to see several different groups walk in to donate supplies. Word travels fast in this group. It takes a community!
Cathy K says
What an awesome report! LIFE impacting an entire city for good is just fantastic. Great job, Wisconsin!
Amelia Price says
Thank you so much for sharing team Stealth!! This article absolutely made my day- way to set an example and truly show where the hearts of Life members lie. It was emotional reading about the things you did for others and some of the reactions, seeing the pictures of joyous servanthood, but also hearing the impact on the people that were doing the giving! I loved the videos too!! These acts of kindness are not only admirable but completely inspiring- my husband and the rest of our team will keep this close to our hearts as we strive to impact our community in a positive way as well!! Fired up!!!

Jill Hartley says
What an incredible day and what a difference it made! Not only in the lives that were served but my life especially! To see the smiles on people’s faces, just by taking a little time out of the day to spend with them, moved something in me. Since that Saturday, I have committed to looking for a good deed that I can do daily for someone. I may not change the world but at least I can help one person, maybe, have a better day.
Life on Life is going to change the norm for society as we know it. God has big plans! I see it and my soul KNOWS it. I am so blessed to be a part of this wonderful organization!
Thank you Life Leadership and Life on Life!!
Teesa Rossman says
I remember the Girl Scout Slogan being “Do a good turn daily”. What a great idea to live up to. Like you said, if nothing else, we can help someone have a better day.
Kelli Sager says
You are changing the world Jill , 1 life at a time !
Patty Blakley says
Fantastic article & video which truly touches on what a great group of people can accomplish. Leading with the heart, putting others first, helping your neighbor……and the list goes on. Surely this is what God must have intended for all of us. The more individuals who are touched and pay it forward with random acts of kindness large or small could cause that ripple effect to become more than any of us could imagine. What a wonderful thought! So proud to be part of such a amazing Team – and this is just the beginning.
Ryan Blakely says
That’s right the impact is going to be enormous!
Pat sarver says
One act of kindness today. Maybe tomorrow we could do two. ! I have experienced the grace of this community, and it is awesome.
Rita says
When I drove up to the meeting spot I was blown away by the filled parking lot and number of people piling out of cars!! I had tears in my eyes before we even started, realizing all of the good that would be done that day.
When we were leaving Family Dollar a woman came up to our car and thanked us for what we were doing. She wasn’t sure what that was but could tell by our attitude and posture that something good was about to happen in her community.
Making a difference- what ultimately
drives us all. So happy to be a part of it.
Cort Howard says
So proud to serve with all of you wonderful people! This was as much blessing for those who served as for those who were served.
Jammie says
For those of you who organized or participated in any way-here is a ripple up in Plymouth Wisconsin that happened Monday because of you:
Life On Life has inspired us Monica Koenig & Johanna Kimme to help out these two get school supplies, they were thrilled “if it wasn’t for you guys we wouldn’t have school supplies, we thank you.” It was great seeing their smiles & what a good feeling this experience has done for us.
Jammie says
I’d share their picture but can’t get it in here 🙂
Steve says
That’s awesome!

Gail Sorenson says
I was part of this day and am so glad I participated. Not knowing what we would do and not knowing the city of Janesville at all was scary for me. But it was wonderful to give to people who truly appreciated the kindness of our thoughtfulness. Thanks Chuck for suggesting going to a laundromat and giving a few dollars of quarters. This has opened my eyes to the great need there is every where. Thanks for the blessings of that day!!
Kelli Sager says
What an amazing article ! I am in tears right now after reading and watching the videos. I participated in this but didn’t realize how big of an impact we made on the city of Janesville until right now ! Our little group went to a nursing home and spent time with people who don’t get visitors. Got some great stories and big smiles ! What an honor it was to participate with this group of people making a difference !
Emily Hebbe says
Not sure how to explain the emotions of our Random Acts Of Kindness Life on Life Initiative day was like! I guess in truth none of the memories we have from 8/29/2015 are random at all! I believe we all felt lead in one way or another to be who we were all ment to be! I’m so proud to be associated with servants to Christ ! Thank you so much for all the time Kristen! It was a honor having you there ALL day with us! Your blog does an incredible job of transferring our emotions of that day! Thank you so much Leurquin’s for following your heart!

What an amazing experience my 8 year old daughter was able to witness and participate in. She was able to not only see her parents able to donate supplies to the Pregnancy Care Center in Janesville, but also hear the amazing testimonials of others. She even urged us to share our experience but ran out of time to share. Thank you Life Leadership and Chris Swanson for arranging this. We are inspired to do this more often now and show our children what being a leader is all about.
Ryan Blakely says
You are not just only making a difference in the community but in your family’s generations to come. Nice job!
Paul and Di Bowden says
So proud to be part of such an amazing group changing the world one town at s time! When do we do this again?
Dana Sarver says
It was a blast! We were able to go to the Dollar Tree and not only help out their sales for the day, but also buy some much needed supplies and donate them to a women’s and children’s shelter. Also while at the store, we were able to help bless two families by purchasing their groceries for them. Such a blessing and so thankful for Life Leadership and the impact they bring each and every day!
Ryan Blakely says

You guys & gals did great!!!! I may be on another team in another state, but I am very proud of you. I love reading all the great acts of kindness that are going on through this initiative. Keep up the great work!!!
Dave & Nancy Tessmann says
We had brought a ladder and some yard tools to see who could use some help. We called my wife’s sister who lives in town and is always doing things for her church, however, it turns out she’s the one who needed help with cleaning the little trees in her gutters on a second story roof. But our ladder was 6 feet too short! No worries cuz GOD was in charge. He provided a neighbor who recently moved in nearby, and hadn’t met anyone yet, that had a ladder long enough to reach the roof safely! Then while we were cleaning, Steve Leurquin saw the activity and climbed up to trim some branches!? What an amazing DAY!!!
Kristen Seidl says
Oh my! I am so sorry I missed this story to put in the article! Thanks for sharing here! Great job!
Terry Grinnell says
I love being apart of this organization and taking part in this event. I could not sleep for two days, because my mind would not stop running. Thinking about everything we did to help the community and the acts of kindness that I was able to take part in. I look forward to the next time. I cant wait!!!
Andrea Klubertanz says
Terry is a great example of leading with his heart. He wanted to find an activity to take kids minds off being in a shelter and t-shirt painting was a big hit! The kids, parents and staff were blown away by the thoughtfulness and desire to interact this young man, his wife and friends displayed. So proud of him!

What a great job Janesville. What an example you have set for all of us.

This has been so cool to see the things that were done in the community that day, and the things that we can try to do as “random acts of kindness” on a regular basis!

Being a part of the Life on Life experience was amazing. Reaching out and touching people’s lives was a great feeling. My family bought gift cards at Walmart and randomly walked around the store and looked for people who we thought might need a little extra to help with their purchases. Two of our favorite experiences was (1) helping a nun who was an administrator at a nursing home purchase gifts for a basket they were going to raffle off at a silent raffle and (2) helping an overwhelmed single father purchase school supplies for his son. All of our experiences truly touched our hearts. I truly believe that Life Leadership has started a wave of kindness to “pay it forward “.

Wow, what a day it was, we were so Blessed to be able to be a part of something so amazing. Watching people touch the lives of strangers all over the city was incredible. We came together as a group and had so many great ideas and so many peoples lives were changed that day. We will be looking for opportunities on a daily bases to be a blessing for others. There is such huge need everywhere if you are looking.
Thank you to Steve and Jamie Leurquin for the initiative to do Life on Life in Janesville.

Such an amazing day to be a part of the gift of giving of time or money is amazing not only for what you might do for the ones being blessed but also eye opening for me personally to the needs out there.
One thing I learned when I see or hear someone in need, don’t wait do what you can at that moment you have no idea how big of an impact Italy have.

It is amazing what a ripple effect a group of great people can have in so many lives. Great idea and great job, we continue to follow the leadership you are all setting before all of us. How cool! : )

another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
