“The most favorable way to influence a population is through literacy.” –George Guzzardo
There is something so special about a company that is passionate about making a difference. Typically, we hear of corporations that have strong intentions to serve and give back to local causes, but rarely do the ideas get put into action. However, Life Leadership is vastly different from the “norm.” When Orrin Woodward and the founders birth an idea–especially one with the potential for global impact–immediate execution takes place. In fact, before the public announcement of the “Life on Life” Initiative by CEO Chris Brady at the 2015 Summer Leadership Convention, several Life Leadership members were already out driving the operation by contributing time and resources to local charities. Additionally, the inspiration of “magnet-bombing” for charities evolved into a trend that Life Leadership members everywhere have adopted; and it is quickly becoming a massive movement within the community. Truly, there are endless ways to motivate people to make a difference, and adding this dimension of fun to the mix was a brilliant way to incorporate individual “Life on Life” activities to the large scope of influence that the community is already having with local missions.
When it comes to internal motivation from the office staff–who work tirelessly behind the scenes–Life Leadership isn’t sparing any opportunities to extend its reach. CEO Chris Brady and COO Rob Hallstrand recently decided to partner the corporate office, located in Cary, North Carolina, with a local literacy organization. Employees at the Life Leadership World Headquarters, along with their families, now have the opportunity to volunteer and serve as a part of this “Life on Life” Initiative.
“The Triangle Literacy Council (TLC) improves the lives of adults, youth and families by teaching basic literacy and life skills for economic and social success. For over 45 years, TLC has been serving individuals and families in the Triangle region of Raleigh, North Carolina, with literacy and basic skills programming to improve lives through community and individual success. TLC provides literacy programming across a broad spectrum of individuals and families, for all age groups, for families and their pre-school children, for youth involved with the juvenile justice system, incarcerated women, inmates in county jails, and for the unemployed. Programs are offered for Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language, one-on-one tutoring with trained volunteers, a Juvenile Literacy Center for youth involved with the juvenile court system or at risk of being involved, financial literacy, life skills, civics and government, and specifically tailored workplace literacy.” –TLC Mission Statement
Life Leadership is devoted to and intentional about improving literacy around the world. The statistics of people who can’t read is alarming. The “Life on Life” Initiative is all about serving those people who need assistance to function in society. Without proficient literacy, functional freedom is nearly impossible to attain. That is why the corporate staff members who choose to participate in this literacy initiative will receive two hours weekly of paid time by the office if they volunteer to tutor a student to help them read. Staff members will also receive “in-house” training from TLC personnel at the Life Leadership corporate headquarters, where they will learn the basics of tutoring someone who struggles with reading.
“Personally, it was without question that I would participate. Helping people is truly the key to happiness. My specific passion is to help young women and young mothers who have not yet had an opportunity to flower or have been the victims of domestic abuse. I am so proud to be part of a company that is taking a stand for literacy; truly making a positive impact!” -Michelle Turner (Life Leadership Marketing & Obstaclés Press Manager)
Lastly, because Life Leadership products are designed specifically to improve people’s thinking, the company is also donating $1 of corporate funds for every Life Leadership subscription to global partnerships that promote literacy. It is with great optimism that these initiatives will make an impact in providing functional freedom for the masses en route to the overall mission of reaching millions of people with Life Leadership.

Our motto is “have fun, make money, make a difference”. I’m so proud to see the LIFE Leadership community leading the way and giving people a real hand-up into functional freedom.

TLC is one more reason why families are joining Life Leadership. When we take the focus off of ourselves and shine the light of Christ on others, it’s no wonder that the Life on Life is already so successful. Thankfully Elisabeth Holmgren tutored me outside of her 1rst grade class so that I could overcome a.d.d. and dyslexia. Living Intentionally For Excellence is our company and what we do together.

When Chris first announced this program at the 2015 Summer Leadership Convention, I was really excited. Then he went on to say that $1 from every subscription on-going was going to be donated to help the cause and I couldn’t believe it. This organization is determined to make a huge impact in our society and I believe whole-heartedly that it will succeed… with or without me. So I am jumping on and going along for the ride! Can’t wait to see the revival this will have in the lives of millions.

I love that Life is partnering with a literacy program. We don’t realize how much reading makes a difference in our lives until we think about living without that skill. I love that we can help others gain this skill and gain confidence in their lives by helping them learn how to read. Go Life!

When Life on Life was announced to us at our June Major I was over whelmed emotionally. The Life Leadership just continues to amaze me with their innovation and commitment to improving lives. Joining with TLC is just another way this company is doing that. I am proud to be part of LIFE.

Literacy is the cornerstone of a successful life. The Information Age requires the skill of reading and understanding that was not required in the Industrial Age. People who cannot read are at a significant disadvantage and their life will be a struggle.
I have volunteered in a Rochester NY city school and seen first hand 4th grade students reading at 1st grade level with very low self esteem. The other students reading levels vary between a low of 1st grade and a high of 5th grade and the self esteem is in direct correlation to their reading level.
These students need the extra help that the life on life initiative can have a positive impact.
