“The measure of a man’s greatness is not the number of servants he has, but the number of people he serves.” – John Hagee
The Life on Life Initiative is making a dramatic difference in society and Life is incredibly proud of all of the Members who are organizing events that serve the needs of others. In mid May, Life completed one of its largest Life on Life Initiative’s to date – The Pennsylvania Project. Thousands of people from around the world were involved in the unveiling of a dream for one very deserving family. Here is a heart-warming Life on Life story of a team that came together to raise money for the PA Project, written by Jeanne Fritch:
In early May, several Life Members in the greater Chicago area gathered together to brainstorm several ideas for their quarterly Life on Life event. The most popular idea that hatched was to host a ‘Bake and Dinner Plate Sale’ at the June Life Live seminar. We were expecting record attendance at that event as Life Founders George and Jill Guzzardo were scheduled to speak.
As a team, we decided that the beneficiary of the Bake and Dinner Plate Sale would be the Pennsylvania Project, to contribute extra money for any additional needs they might have. One of the area Life Members took the lead and many others got involved and stepped up to cook, bake and package the goods. We also made calls to announce the fund-raising event and spread the word.
On the day of the seminar, countless leaders perfectly orchestrated an ‘all-hands’ approach to quickly set-up, price and display the delectable goodies. Tables and crock pots held Sloppy Joe’s, chips and homemade burritos for hungry buyers to enjoy. Each of the volunteers donated the cost of their part of the project, which meant that all of the money raised would go straight to the Pennsylvania Project. The goal was to raise $1000 that day – and the goal was exceeded when we collected a total of $1113.
I want to extend many thanks to all of those who attended the seminar that day and graciously dug deep into their hearts to support this fund-raising project. Without the enthusiasm and generosity of multiple teams within Life Leadership, the Bake and Dinner Plate Sale for Life on Life would not have been such a tremendous success.
We are very proud of the bakers, the cooks, the set-up crew and the customers who contributed so much to give to others!
Thank you to all of the Life Members who participated in this Life on Life Initiative from Team Braveheart, under the leadership of Jeff and Tammy Darling. Your donation made a big difference for the recipient family of the Pennsylvania Project!
