“Each one of us can make a difference. Together we make change.” -Barbara Mikulski
In a recent staff meeting at the Life Leadership World Headquarters, PR Coordinator Kristen Seidl was asked to give a little overview of what has taken place since the Life on Life Initiative was officially launched in June 2015. As she tried to put into words the incredible movement that has begun, it was made clear that people from all walks of life are helping other people around the world achieve functional freedom in their communities in a BIG way! From a corporate standpoint, the proverbial “pot” didn’t even need to be stirred to get Life Leadership Members excited about serving others. Many of these people already had a heart for serving, and the Life on Life Initiative just gave them a way to focus their energy and inspire others at the same time! Because of the tremendous amount of stories coming in, today we want to highlight four stories, in particular, that have come out of four very different areas of the world…
Habitat for Humanity Project – Denver, Colorado
The beautiful part of Life on Life is that everyone can find a way to use their talents to best serve other people. In Colorado, seven Life Leadership Members decided to volunteer for a local Habitat for Humanity project to help build homes for those less fortunate. Check out what some of the volunteers had to say after a hard day of work:
“I have always wanted to serve. When Life on Life launched, it gave me a burning desire to serve even more in my community. I would serve again and again for Habitat just to know that we are helping families have a place to live. Sara was one of the ladies that we helped build a house for, and she felt so blessed to have us there. Knowing this has really helped me find my passion to serve people. The impact that we left with just 8 hours of building will carry on forever. My absolute favorite part was knowing that while I was helping other families, we were also bonding as a team as I worked alongside friends and business partners that have the same passion. It was tons of fun…words can’t explain how my heart and soul felt after serving. It was like I had a burst of energy to hammer more nails after a whole day of hammering!” -Dorla Gonzales (Life Leadership Member)
“I loved volunteering for Habitat for Humanity! Knowing that we were part of building two homes for people that needed them was a great experience in so many ways. I’ve always wanted to volunteer and hadn’t had the opportunity to be able to until now. I would love to do it again!” -Cindy Fischbach (Life Leadership Member)
“As the CEO of Life Leadership, Chris Brady, says, ‘To whom much is given, much is required.’ It was such an honor and privilege to serve alongside my team and give back to my local community.” -Gershon Ormeo (Life Leadership Member)
“It was awesome to help out Habitat for Humanity to be able to give some time to build houses for people. It was extremely fun, informative, and a great team building activity.” -DJ Conklin (Life Leadership Member)
In Port-au-Prince, Haitians Give the Gift of Life with their Blood
Another really awesome aspect of Life on Life is that it transcends borders! Just like Jesus said to His disciples, “You will always have the poor…” It doesn’t matter where you go in the world, there will always be people that need help. Down in the beautiful country of Haiti, a group of Life Leadership Members made the commitment to get together and give blood as one of their Life on Life projects. Here are some pictures of them at the Red Cross facility in Port-au-Prince!
5k Run for a Pregnancy Crisis Center – Edmond, Oklahoma
Fundraiser for Life Leadership Member Joy Huhn and her Battle with ALS – Manheim, Pennsylvania
The last Life on Life Project featured today is actually an ongoing fundraiser in the month of December 2015 called, Jump for Joy. Read on and click here to see how you can be a part of helping Life Leadership Member, Joy Huhn, fight her battle against ALS.
“Joy Huhn is a loving mother of three, grandmother of one, and wife to Norm, who has been an amazing caregiver throughout her sudden decline to ALS. Joy was diagnosed in October of 2014, and since then the disease has progressed and insurance coverage has its limits.
This fundraising page is set up for Norm and Joy–who give with their hearts and never ask for anything in return. If you are reading this, you or someone you know may have at one point in time come across their love and kindness in one form or another.
Their family has given so much of their lives and hearts to the Life Leadership Rhino team throughout the years; and this page serves to show them that in their time of need, their family, friends, and communities in which they are active in, stand by to help them in any way that we can.
Thank you for taking the time to read this page. Thank you for Jumping for Joy–simply take a picture of yourselves jumping for joy at the opportunity to help this family. Joy would love to see all of the crazy jumps we can do and then of course, make a donation. If you are not able to jump that’s ok, too. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.”
Whether building a home, giving blood, or fundraising for those in need, Life Leadership Members around the world are making their mark by sharing the blessings that they’ve been given in their own lives. Life Leadership is proud to see so many people jumping on the train and making a difference in their local communities!
As we wrap up 2015, what are some of the ways that you plan on helping others in this holiday season? Make sure to share your ideas in a comment below!

As part of the Kaizen Rock & Roll community, we had a privilege last night to do a pot luck supper for our local shelter for the homeless. We brought in some food and ate with the residents in the shelter. We then sat down to spend some quality time with them and the evening ended up in a karaoke night around the television that even brought tears.

The Life on Life articles are my favorite posts to catch! The best feature is that these are highlights.
