“We can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone.” – Ronald Reagan
When the Life on Life Initiative was launched last June, no one could predict the kind of impact it would have in communities around the world. This outreach has turned into a global movement where Life Leadership Members everywhere are committed to organizing events on a regular basis to help people who are in need.
Last year, you may remember reading about hundreds of people coming together to perform random acts of kindness throughout the city of Janesville, Wisconsin. Well, that same group was at it again. Check out the details from two more Life on Life events that the Stealth United Forces organization put together in February.
Life Leadership Members Fix-up a Home for a Teammate – Written by Steve Leurquin
So many times we wonder how we can serve others to make a difference in this world. Many times the people in need are right in our own backyard. A family in our organization has had a home that has needed finishing for several months and they haven’t been able to make a dent in their progress.
When I called the husband of the couple and asked him if we could help him fix-up his home as a Life on Life event, his response was absolutely NO! He fought it tooth and nail. After several days of convincing and explaining, he finally caved and let us help.
We have some very talented people within our organization – a carpenter, a man who works with concrete and several other guys who can fix just about anything! We knew that their talents would be put to good use for this project. In about three hours one room was newly carpeted, several rooms were painted and another room was mudded, sanded and trimmed for completion.
While not everything was finished that needed to be done, we made a ton of progress and the couple that we helped were in tears because of the progress that we made. We are so proud of this group that came to serve. Many of them work hard all week and this kind of work is their vocation Monday through Friday; for them to give up a good part of their Saturday to help a friend, truly shows their hearts!
“It’s a great feeling to see what happens when a group of people pull together. It’s what being part of a community is all about!” – Dyke Watson (Life Leadership Member)
“Life on Life helps our communities to bond and be personally impacted at a whole new level while we are impacting others.” – Jamie Leurquin (Life Leadership Member)
Life Leadership Members Serve at the House of Mercy – Written by Andrea Klubertanz
On February 27th, our group went back to the House of Mercy in Janesville, Wi, to help with their “honey-do-list” and drop off some donated items. We discovered the House of Mercy during our “Random Acts of Kindness” Life on Life event with Steve and Jamie Leurquin last fall; our team has been asking to go back there ever since.
We cleaned, stocked and organized the various storage rooms and kitchen, did Spring-clean-up in the yard and decorated cookies with the kids at the shelter.
The simple act of cleaning and organizing the donations doesn’t seem like much, but it adds a bit of dignity to accepting help. It makes people feel like they are going to a store or a friend’s closet for the items they need rather than digging through junk. It is amazing how quickly things are accomplished when everyone plays a part! I’m glad we could help in some small way.
“Life on Life events are truly inspiring. Bringing a blessed group together to create a blessing for those that need a hand up is an honor. I am very proud to be a part of this incredible community.” – Tony Klubertanz (Life Leadership Member)
“Participating in Life on Life events is truly win/win. Serving others who are less fortunate is powerful in so many ways. The feeling you get by knowing you are making a difference, is the best reward.” – Randy Mergen (Life Leadership Member)
Life Leadership is proud to have Members who are constantly giving back and making a difference in society. Thank you to everyone who served in these Wisconsin Life on Life events from Team Stealth United Forces, under the leadership of Steve and Jamie Leurquin!

I was a part of one of the events above, and I can tell you that these people who serve do so out of their kindness, their gratitude, their drive to make the world just a little bit better place, even if (almost) no one notices. I am proud to know them.
The residents and staff at House of Mercy were terrific to work with! They feigned no excessive gratitude for the work the Life on Life was doing. They simply, humbly accepted the help. They seemed to appreciate the fact that this was no one way street; that we, as much as they, were the benefactors of something good.

Thanks for all you do to make this world a better place Cort!

We can walk out our front door and find someone to serve if we are looking. A smile, help with a door, carrying something for someone. It’s amazing the impact we can make with a small act of kindness to people if we take the focus off ourselves.
It was a great day for all who helped and we look forward to many more stories of Life on Life making an impact.

Proud to be a part of such an awesome group of people. Changing the world by helping communities, one family at a time, one person at a time. And we get to have fun while doing it!
Two greatest commands God gave us was to love God, and love our neighbor. This is a wonderful way to do that!
