“Living a life of excellence does not happen accidentally, but rather through significant effort expended thoughtfully and intentionally.” – Chris Brady
Life prides itself on setting a high bar of excellence both at the corporate level and for Members in the field. We believe that the qualities of character, integrity, hard work, hunger, creativity, and team ego are the epitome of leadership and when someone models these qualities on a consistent basis, they should be recognized for it. At the Life Office, we call these leaders Golden Rascals. While MANY Life employees exemplify these characteristics, we can only pick one winner! Proudly, the Life staff nominated Jordan Woodward as the winner for the month of August.
“Jordan’s willingness to be a student has allowed him to increase his contribution to our company and I am expecting more great things to come.” – Rob Hallstrand (President and COO at Life)
First of all, tell us a little about yourself.
HI, I’m Jordan. I’m 24 years old and I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. If I had to pick one word to describe my life so far, it would have to be “creative.” I love to take the tools and elements and create something from nothing. It’s very rewarding and it’s definitely my passion.
How did you land your position with Life Corporate?
I actually started back in 2011 working here as my summer job (when the company was in Michigan). I was in IT and spent a lot of my time preparing the POS systems for Leadership Conventions. During my free time I would help the media department edit the audio books, and as the summer came to an end, I transferred into the media department as a full-time employee.
How long have you been with Life and what is your current role with the company?
I have been “full-time” for 5 years now, and I’m the new lead graphic designer for Life.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is that I get to create and design things for a living. As I said earlier, it’s always been my passion.
Do you have a favorite book or product in the Life portfolio?
I really enjoy Resolved, written by my dad, Orrin Woodward.
Who inspires you?
My boss, Steve Kendall, has been a big inspiration. He helped me see my talents when I was struggling with self-doubt.
Do you have a favorite quote?
“I would not sit waiting for some vague tomorrow, nor of something to happen. One could wait a lifetime, and find nothing at the end of the waiting. I would begin here, I would make something happen.” (Sackett’s Land) – Louis L’Amour
“Jordan stands out as one of the best I’ve worked with throughout my professional career. He is a true talent and he loves what he does. I’m looking forward to where he takes our graphic design moving forward.” – Steve Kendall (Director of Marketing)
Life is so thankful to have so many employees who are passionate about their careers and take such pride in their work. Congratulations to Jordan Woodward for winning the prestigious Golden Rascal Award for the month of August! It is well-deserved.
