“One person can make a difference.” – Chris Brady
Life Members continue to ‘be the change’ that the world so desperately needs. That said, I never tire of hearing stories of people doing good. The Life on Life Initiative is all about making a difference in society for people who need it most. That is why we are proud to feature this inspiring story of a team of people who gathered in Michigan to raise money for a very worthy cause.
On Saturday, March 11th, 2017, in DeWitt, Michigan, Life Members from the Samurai organization partnered with Generosity Feeds to help prepare and pack food boxes for the underprivileged children in the local community. Combining volunteer groups and the organization, the goal was to pack over 10,000 meals in just two hours!
Generosity Feeds works to feed hungry children in every county across America so that all children have the opportunity to thrive.
Their experienced team works with organizations to mobilize people in schools, businesses, churches, or clubs to package 10,000 or more meals in just a couple of hours. All of the meals stay local to feed children who struggle with hunger.
This gives organizations the opportunity to build relationships and inspire long-term generosity in their communities. Through this event, teams and communities work to decrease the debilitating effects of food insecurity on children in their areas by packaging and providing nutritious and delicious meals for children in need.
The Life on Life event took place in a local DeWitt, Michigan school, packed with hundreds of volunteers all serving for a common purpose – to improve the lives of children in their own community.
“What an amazing opportunity to participate with Generosity Feeds to provide meals for our local community children. It was inspiring to see all of the people who came out to help, and working together made it fun as well!” – Bobbi Duchene (Life Member)
“Knowing we can help even one tiny tummy go to bed not hungry at night feels amazing! I will totally do this again, they were so organized!” – Kelly Johnson (Life Member)
“I was so happy my friend opened my heart to feeding the hungry children. I love the fact I get to help our community! It was great leading a group of people who want to give freely to others in need of our time and money. We met so many amazing servant hearts. It was a fun time!” – Kayla Cooper (Life Member)
Thank you to the Life Members from the Samurai organization who participated in this Life on Life event. Your service truly made a difference in your community!
